Trusting Him

Well, we are still searching. We are going to make one more attempt at a third agency and see what type of response we get from them. They have a Vietnam program that we would like to learn more about. All we know is that we will trust God's timing and continue to pray for orphans around the world. My eyes have been opened to a reality of just how many helpless children there are - waiting, waiting, and waiting. To look at the pictures of the older children who live in orphanages and think - do they still have hope that one day things could be different? One day they may have a family to love them? Even if we never have the blessing of being able to adopt I would love to take a mission trip to orphanages and just love on them and share Christ with them. We don't even think about how truly blessed we are so much of the time.

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world. James 1:27

Pressing On

We did get a response back from our pre-app; however, it was slightly disappointing. We didn't quite meet the requirements for China. Now we have to decide how we want to move forward. I am going to check around some and see what I can find at a couple other places. For the countries that we did meet requirements for we would need to be open to a wide age range and either gender. The other issue is that some of those countries require long travel times like 3-5 weeks in the country or two separate trips. So for now we will press on and continue to pray!

Moving Forward!

We got an email yesterday saying that our prelimary application had been processed and our social worker will be contacting us in a couple days to guide us through the next steps! Yeah!! I believe most of our family now knows that we intend to adopt (only by the grace of God) and after the initial shock all seem excited. As I continue researching and reading as much as I can find I came across a qoute from an adoptive family that I want to share. "We've caught a tiny glimpse of the longing in God's heart as He waits for those He has chosen to become a part of His family." Wow.
